What To See
Lying within the sheltering arm of the Mull of Kintyre and the beautiful islands of the Clyde: Bute, Arran, Little Cumbrae and Great Cumbrae, Largs enjoys a sheltered climate, with a long two mile promenade with the Woodhouse Hotel at one end and Largs Yacht Haven at the other. Many visitors just like to relax and take in the views, but when you want to venture further afield, public ferries and private operators can take you to the Cumbrae Islands directly from Largs, whilst within 15 minutes by bus, car or train, ferries run regularly to The Isles of Bute and Arran. A further 10-minute drive leads you to Gourock, where there are two ferry routes to Dunoon, Gateway to Argyll and the Highlands, operated by Caledonian MacBrayne and Western Ferries. A further passenger-only service to Helensburgh operates from Gourock Pier.
