For connoisseurs of the Scottish national drink, Largs lies equidistant from the distilleries of Glengoyne in the Campsie Hills and Dumbartonshire's Auchentoshan and Littlemill, whilst further down the coast Girvan and Kilmarnock welcome visitors to the distilleries there.

But all Scottish bars, hotels and restaurants have their own favourites and many run “malt of the month” promotions – a great opportunity to savour a famous malt or discover a hidden treasure. Believe it or not a malt never tastes as good as after a day out breathing Scottish air – the two are inseparable and the aromas and sensations will never be repeated anywhere else in the world.
